Step-by-Step Bong Cleaning Guide
Follow this simple process to clean a glass water pipe or bong in under 5 minutes:
- 1Disassemble and Rinse:Remove the glass slide bowl and downstem adapter from the joint. Pour out the dirty bong water and rinse the main body with warm tap water to remove loose debris.
- 2Add Cleaning Agents:If using Formula 420, shake the bottle to distribute crystals and pour directly into the main chamber. If using Isopropyl Alcohol, pour 100ml into the chamber and add 2 tablespoons of coarse salt (coarse sea salt or Epsom salt).
- 3Plug and Shake:Plug the mouthpiece and joint openings using silicone bong plugs or your hands wrapped in paper towels. Shake the bong vigorously for 30–60 seconds. The salt/crystals will act as tiny scrubbers, scraping sticky resin off the glass.
- 4Clean Small Parts:Place the downstem adapter and slide bowl in a zip-lock bag filled with cleaning solution/alcohol and salt. Shake the bag and use thin pipe brushes to clean inside the slide bowl stem.
